Is your Barrier Removal Obligation Readily Achievable?
Businesses and Non-Profit organizations are required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to provide goods, services, and use of their facilities to people with disabilities in a way that is equal to the rest of the public. The requirement is to remove architectural barriers when it is considered "readily achievable." What is "readily achievable?" How do you know if it is "readily achievable" to remove architectural barriers at your place of business? The Institute for Human Centered Design has made a checklist avialable to make these determinations.
