SERVICE DESCRIPTION:
PBWS Architect’s universal design expertise enables us to provide a range of services related to compliance with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) as well as the application of design concepts that makes structures more accessible and effective for all users, accommodating a diverse spectrum of abilities.
We provide the following services:
•Plan Review
•Facility Surveys
•SB 1608 Inspection, Report and Certification
•Barrier Removal Design
•Continuing Education Seminars/Training for Owners and Clients
The recent passage of California Senate Bill 262 has established a program for voluntary certification of any person who meets specified criteria as a Certified Access Specialist or “CASp.” We currently have three CASps on staff at PBWS:
•Gregory Sun, Principal
•Fred Wesley, Principal
•Richard Calkins, Project Manager
We are vigilant about keeping up with the updates to the Americans with Disabilities Act regulations and the California Building Code, and have assembled a cache of “lessons learned.” We are happy to share our knowledge with building owners who are interested in bringing an existing building into compliance with current regulations, or are contemplating the design of a new, fully compliant facility.
