Livable Communities: An Evalutation Guide
As America's aging population increases it becomes more and more important to question whether or not our communities are livable for older adults and if they support aging in place. Towards this end AARP has put together Livable Communities: An Evaluation Guide to lead community groups through the process of carrying out self-assessment surveys to investigate their community's livability and identify problem areas. The guide also outlines a range of steps that groups can take to follow up on their findings in order to change their communities for the better. The guide includes surveys that cover the issues of transportation, walkability, safety and security, shopping, health services, recreational and cultural activities, and caring community.
