DIY Accessibility The Ramp Project is Removing Barriers for People with Disabilities, One Storefront at a Time
Luke Anderson, an engineer in Toronto and co-founder of Stop Gap, is working with volunteers to make the city of Toronto accessible to wheelchair users. They design and build temporary ramps to place in front of inaccessible doorways at businesses around the city. Each one is specifically designed for site, and they are all painted a bright color in order to call attention to accessibility. The Ramp Project not only improves accessibility, but it also serves as advertising for the cause.
