Universal Design- Don’t Buy, Build, or Remodel Without It
The March 2006 Issue of Ultimate Home Design has an article by a physical therapist who argues for the necessity of thinking about universal design in the home.
She mentions the important of flexibility in your house designs. Universal design homes are more flexible, since they can accomodate the needs of users who differ in height, size, strength, and mobility. Universal design homes have increased marketability and resalevalue, since they can be sold to people of all ages and abilities.
