SAH and UD: Entries and Building Costs

From the November 2010 issue of PN comes an article about the Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) grant, often used for veterans, and how this is similar to Universal Design.  The Specially Adapted Housing grant can provide vetrans with up to $50,000 which can be used for up to 50% of the cost of a new accessible home or remodel. Specififcations and estimated prices for ramps, lifts, doors, and floors are discussed. This article is written by architect Charles Schwab, AIA, CAPS, CGP.
