ADA Standards
On UniversalDesign.com, you can use common English terms to browse the site using Keywords. Choose the “Browse by Keyword” option located underneath the three drop-down menus in the blue box in the middle of the page. You’ll find a comprehensive list of keywords to choose from; select one and begin your search. You can also type in any string of characters at the top of the page and search that way.
Most of the keywords and topics are cross referenced to the chapters, sections and subsections of the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design. You can also browse the site using these 2010 ADA Standards reference numbers as a guide to find the information you’re looking for. You don’t have to know the Standards by heart—simply choose a chapter from the drop-down menu and use the two remaining drop-down menus to narrow your search, by choosing a section and subsection within the chapter you’ve selected. Your search can be as broad or as narrow as you’d like.
